Wetland Mitigation
The 775-acre Van Vleck Mitigation Bank is in eastern Sacramento County, near Rancho Murieta. The landscape comprises primarily of rolling grassland habitat, supporting several vernal pool complexes, drainage channels, seeps, and artificial ponds.
The Bank and surrounding property have been owned by the Van Vleck family for several generations, beginning in the early 20th century. The Ranch, notably the Bank, is zoned Ag-80 and has historically and is currently being used for grazing and associated ranching activities. Most of the Bank site has remained unchanged in the past 70 years.
