Wetland Mitigation
Colusa Basin Mitigation Bank is a 160-acre site providing habitat for the giant garter snake, a threatened species under the federal and California Endangered Species Act. The property is part of a more extensive network of nearby wetlands. The site shares borders on three sides with wetlands managed for wildlife habitat. Directly adjacent to the property is the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge, which supports a well-documented population of giant garter snakes.
