Gopher Tortoises Spotted at Chickasawhay Conservation Bank
Trail cameras at Chickasawhay Conservation Bank captured several photos of two subadult gopher tortoises. Distinct markings on the shells of the tortoises confirm that these are two individuals and not just one very busy tortoise. John McGuire, Project Manager for the bank, speculates that the two juveniles probably came from the same clutch and may belong to a BIG female in the area unglamorously named GT 6.
