The 530-acre Meridian Ranch Mitigation Bank is located in Butte County, California. Historic vernal pools, vernal swales, and seasonal wetlands have been re-established and rehabilitated by excavating and re-connecting the landscape features to retain rainfall and runoff.
The bank provides a mitigation opportunity for regional projects with impacts to vernal pools and swales, seasonal wetlands, and other ephemeral waters the Northeastern Sacramento Valley Vernal Pool Region. The bank is approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
